Margaret Lantis photograph collection, ca. 1948-1970's. [graphic].

The glass slides in this collection were taken by Margaret Lantis as part of a 1948, BIA-funded project titled, "Economic Needs of Natives in Southeastern Alaska." The final report was not released. The slides include printed economic statistics of the seven villages in the project, views of these villages and activities of the residents. Sixty photographs were taken with a Graflex camera for the 1948 report written by Margaret Lantis and Dr. Varden Fuller, an economist with the Gianinni Foundation, University of Ca., Berkeley. Thirty-one images were made into glass slides. Prints have been produced for viewing.
